Anyone listen to folk music?
Previous | Next by muhgcee 11 March, 2005 - 1:38 AM

I downloaded 300MB of folk music, and it is a nice change so far. I like the titles, such as:

  • I Wish I Was a Mole in the Ground
  • Fishing Blues (literally about half of the song titles end with "Blues")
  • Drunkard's Special
  • King Kong Kitchie Kitchie Ki-Me
  • A Lazy Farmer Boy
  • My Name Is John Johanna
  • John Hardy Was A Desperate Little Man
  • Gonna Die With My Hammer In My Hand
  • Old Dog Blue
  • Indian War Whoop
I like this stuff, because they sound like real people and their real, unmessed with voices and instruments. But it is staticy as all hell.

You sure that's Folk & not old, old Country?

Of course my idea of Folk is Bob Dylan & Peter, Paul, & Mary... so... nevermind.

It is called "Anthology of American Folk Music." Whether they are lying to me or not, I am not sure. I don't have a good definition of what folk music is.
