Small, Fun, Quick Games
Previous | Next by elfie 05 August, 2010 - 3:06 AM

I'm on the Fun Committee at work (yes, really), and one thing I want to do is put a tabletop game on every table in our break room. These games have to be cheap, fairly easy to learn, playable in under 10 minutes, and preferably small so they don't take up a lot of room on the table and you can still eat your lunch while playing. I'd like these to be comfortably playable by 3-6 people, but I'm not opposed to two-player games like Connect Four. All of these will probably end up being played tournament-style with fabulous prizes at some point in the not too distant future.

Right now I've got Zombie Dice and Cthulhu Dice, both of which have been pretty huge hits. At our old office, we also had a copy of Set, which people liked a lot, so I'll probably pick that up again. Anyone have any other recommendations?

Sorry, all I can think of are games that take a while - rummy cube (or rummikub, whichever you prefer), Mille Bornes, that kind of stuff... we never really sat down for 10 minute games...

I suppose in another direction though, there's Connect 4?

I suggest going to board game geek and maybe asking in their forum?

Hungry Hungry Hippos lost it's appeal after Stu threw up on ours when he was 5.
