Thoughts out there?

here's one for you... i realized today that most of you don't know that i wrote all the code that this place works on (with the minor exception of most of chatchat)... and if anyone wanted a copy of it, or to use a version of it that would be modified to their needs, i'd be happy to let them use it. the main reason i still write stuff for it is because i like the fact that i can offer anything livejournal or xanga can, given a day or two, and it's all mine, so anyone other than myself making use of it would make me feel a little more validated, hehe.
so far, pyrex is the only one who has a copy of it, other than here... and he doesn't even use it, so... there you have it, that's my schpiel.

Here's a little piece celebrating the Sept. 11 terrorists, describing various alleged lies, and declaring the reasons why terrorists find it absolutely necessary to attack the damned oppressive Americans.
I like the last line, which describes their true goals.

so i was telling pyrex about this, and after complaining that none of you people seem to like to comment on most of my posts, and he said it was because the stuff i say just "is" and there isn't much to opine upon (even though i disagree) i thought i would talk about this... since there is a lot to opine about here...

anywho... my move. yes, for those of you who are not on my hastily thrown together email list, i moved to a new apartment with michelle. hooray hooray, it's such a nice place. 2 bathrooms (michelle likes the main one, and has all of her stuff in it, so we're not running into each other when we both have to use a bathroom), 2 bedrooms, so i have my computer set up in there (and hers will be too, when she gets it here), and we'll probably put a futon in there.

Sorry I missed the exciting move, Benny. I'll be happy to bring over (insert bevvies here) or (alternate). I was unaware that you were moving...I am generally unaware. Does this mean I can't eat at your mom's house anymore? I really like eating there. Alot.
On a more personal note: I got the cutest shoes yesterday!
Another note: My party is this Sunday in Philly at Bump. You should come. It will be techno fun!

DamnThatsCool.com has suffered some downtime today, and it's my fault. Sorry about that. I've been working on getting ben and myself proper ftp access to this server...and bulletproof ftp seems to crash the crap out of it after about 3 hours. I've restructured with IIS, hopefully it will be stable now.
This post is partly to make sure it still works...

so apparently today is slacker day in britain, and we're urged to take part... for me, that won't be difficult, hehehe.
also, on the way here, on 495, i saw a sign spraypainted in red letters on the jersey barrier... "This is not freedom"... and the first thought that popped into my head was "of course it isn't, it's graffitti." the next thought that made its way up from the muck was "look at the big brain on brad!" (hi Z!)

so i was strolling through tribe.net this afterweek, and got a link to this story about ernie ball (whom i'd never heard of till now), where they completely got rid of microsoft at their company... and they love it. well... he does.
personally, i know it's really profitable on that end, and so on and so forth... but how many of his employees were happier being able to visit eBay, i wonder?
again, though, he doesn't have to worry about that, hiring favors the employer today. anywho, i'm off... i'll blather again tomorrow.

Olive is for militant, agressive, and..... green. Well, I'm back, and I might even stay a day or two, I'll let you know tomorrow. I was perusing the posts reading about a lot of birthdays when suddenly it struck me. My little doggy ran away. It was small, scared, whimpered incessantly and responded to the name "Spike." If any of you have seen my little bitch, please call the pound and have it put down immediately.
Ben wanted me to mention Towers. So, here goes... TOWERS. There done. Thats about all the place is worth, Bill and Luke can go take a long walk off a short pier.

not work this semester, but I got an offer I couldn't refuse. Just six more months, I swear!
Truth is I really couldn't refuse: full salary and benes for 16 hours a week, and the unerstanding that I really don't care that much. Also, no pressure. I come in at 10 ish and leave before evening traffic, the boss brings me coffe with the correct amount of sugar and cream, and for lunch I often sit in the mall for several hours.
It's like being unemployed with a paycheck.

sometimes it's nice to have your code be almost entirely database driven...
one of the projects i'm working on displays a chart of various values, like a spreadsheet... and the client wanted sorting on it. since i do it all in a big loop, changing 3 lines of code wasn't too hard - in return for which, the client loves it. simple... easy, yet so cool to some people.
can a get a whee?

so does anyone remember the congressmen from texas that went into hiding a while back? apparently they're in new mexico... and according to npr, the republicans are "getting tough" by reclaiming their parking spaces and mobile phones. *shiver*
now, this in itself isn't very interesting, but i was also listening to some more "news" about flashmobbing and this would be a great crossover...
"Senators meet at fountain at 2 o'clock, hold session for 10 minutes, disperse," like random acts of law or something, it would be great.

i was thinking about this on the drive over today... why is it that you're not part of the cool clique if you don't know every last bit about the history of whatever your clique is focused on? e.g. do we need to know about ARPANet and the little flight sim that they wanted to play against each other, and that's why the internet is here?

Last Saturday I went to a wedding shower for a girl who I was roomates and very good frends with years ago. We've grown apart, but there was no animosity even though we parted in an akward way (for another story). So after the shower we get together with her groom (a guy I introduced her to) and a bunch of his friends, brothers, and their friends and frats buddies. The bar we went to was a good time, and I had a fun bet with Bride's little sis about phone #s and such so I thought everything was on the up and up. Until we got outside.

I just got back from a 4 day backpacking trip in the Adirondacks with my roommate and a friend of mine. We had a fantastic time, did some great hiking, saw some great views, and had a run in with a black bear. Oh yeah, I also got giardia. My encounter with the bear was pretty exciting, but right now, the giardia is at the forefront of my mind. Oh well, off to the doctor. I'll post the details of the trip later.

from the wrangle: a new look at time
supposedly, in this paper, the author answers some of the major paradoxes (achilles vs. the turtle and Zeno) concerning our understanding of time...
i'm going to write a LOT more on this in a bit, but i have to work on work right now... don't let me forget.
