Roughly 9½ hours remain of the year that was, at least here in snowy Sweden. Looking back, the year has been kind of.. lukewarm, with the exception of summer which was past boiling point.
How's your 2003 been?

It's the 30th of December, and I have 17 days left in the Charm. Today I changed my address and all kinds of stuff in preparation and for the first time I actually feel like I'm going. There exists momentum in the world and I have a little bit myself now. How exciting! New house, new backyard, new state, and the ability to migrate the length of a continent and know that the same re-runs and fast food will comfort me there as here. God Bless America.

hahahahahha, quick, read something positive's rant at the bottom for today... hahahahahaha.
specifically, my favorite part is
Some modern scholars believe that Sarah Nurse, who was hanged as a witch in Salem, was indeed a witch. Regardless of whether or not she was, the events of Salem and of the Burning Times and the Inquisition resonate with modern Witches in the same manner that the Holocaust does with modern Jews, that is, as a reminder to appreciate the religious freedoms that millions gave their lives for and that many people take for granted today.

and to celebrate I got tequilaed for three nights straight. Patron, good shit, no hangovers and no sour tummy. You guys missed some great action: got to chase a cute boy around the beltway in a sweet new passat (owned by other cute boy in passenger seat, squealing like a stuck piggie), B&E so Wendy could use the facilities in unknown person's apartment (good thing no dog), and a little girl on girl action I caught on film in the bathroom at the Brewer's...other girls, not me.
what can I say, school is out forever. Or at least till Columbia. Manhattan is so not ready for this yet.

i came across this article today and thought it was interesting. she has some good and rather die-hard opinions of formula intolerance. i was wondering what you think about it? think there's any truth to her rant or is it just her strong opinion?

i'm not suggesting anyone ditch their phones just yet... but if you have friends online who have speakers and microphones (or a laptop, which has them built in)... check out skype, it's pretty damn cool.
a guy at work showed it to me, and it's really easy, and has very good sound (much better than presspad did, ehh, peter?)... so for people who want to check it out, i recommend it... and i'm on as benstiefel.

This is an excerpt of the transcript from Governor Jesse Ventura's "America" last Saturday.
"VENTURA: Well, let me ask you this, Tom. In our Constitution, it says the right to the pursuit of happiness, doesn't it? It doesn't say anything in there that your pursuit of happiness might be that you want to be stupid."
Featured guests were Rob Kampia of the Marijuana Policy Project, Tommy Chong's attorney, and Tom Riley of the Drug Czar's Office. I'd like to see the governor's TV show go national.

i just watched "The Last Supper"... the 1995 movie that is... well, reallly cool. a group of 5 liberal grad students decide that they're going to make the world a better place as they believe it should be, by bumping off those who they deem evil. it has Ron Perlman, aka Salvatore in The Name of The Rose... (not to mention clayface in the cartoon of batman... but hey) which is enough by itself to make it a good movie, hehe.

My girlfriend, Kat, is of course coming with me to Hanukah festivities with mom's side of the family. Now at our last big Jewish gathering, Passover, neither my sister nor I brought a date. This is aparently the first time this had happened since I was 17 and everyone commented that we needed to do something about it next time. :-P So I wrote an email to everyone the other day mentioning that Kat was coming and mentioning their disapointment that my sister and I had shown up without dates last time.
The first amusing response I got was from my father: "Actually we're disapointed that you're not showing up to holidays with our grandchildren yet."

but i was doing my morning check through the artifact network, and the latest message posted was this: "I want to be able to right click on the caption and do something. Does anyone know how to do this?"
seriously... this illustrates why i harp on grammar and spelling so much here, because language is SO important, especially on the web, where no one can hear you scream... if we lose our ability to communicate sensibly to each other, all collaboration, most growth goes out the window, into the dumpster and taken down to the landfill to be picked at by seagulls... you don't want to be eaten by a seagull do you? do you?? hehe

but right now, i'm asking people about mMode... does anyone know anything about it?
i'm about to get a free ericsson phone from at&t, with their $40/month plan, and they're offering me their mMode of 1 mb for 8 bucks a month... opinions? who knows what or has used it?
