I know at least a couple people on here have been in my car, played with my navigator/MP3 player/in-car wireless phone bluetooth thingie, and said something along the lines of "wow that's really cool, but I'm not paying that much for it." So I thought I'd let you know that it's on sale on amazon today. 50% off.
I would kick myself for having paid full price for it a year ago, but I've definitely gotten enough use out of it in the last twelve months to make it well worth the price difference.

There are funnier, or more endearing, or more inspiring talks, but this is pretty high on each, and useful in America today:

This is a great site with pictures from the knocking down of Memorial Stadium.
What I will never understand is why they couldn't keep the Memorial part of Memorial Stadium up. It looks like they could have if they wanted to.

most of you already know, but for those of you who don't, i'm going to be at a new job in 2 weeks... Cynergy Systems, Inc.. It looks pretty cool, and my friend Mike who's been working there (since Bally), loves it, so I'm looking forward to it...
Hooray progress!

lifehacker has the list -
for me, my newest coolest gadgets have been about a 50/50 success rate - i'm using my phone to about 50% of its potential... my tablet i hardly use anymore, my iPod 80gb i haven't filled up... so, it's enough for me to say "enough"...
what about you guys? I know Rich wants the new Air...

My neighbor is Eli The Computer Guy, and gave me an awesome mug, which i brought to work. I love the insert that came with it - all spelling mistakes were there, and the bullet points were stars ( stars! how awesome!) all parenthetical comments are mine:

Not only was the plot and storyline horrible, but it was so short!
That was actually merciful, especially if you're prone to motion sickness... there were actually people put into ambulances at the end...
God that was awful...

i know all of 2 of you will care HOW i did the spiffy new user stats page, but i'm telling you anyways - i fired up fancy pants new Visual Studio 2008, played around with fancy pants new LINQ to SQL code, and voila! That page has a grand total of 130 lines in the code beside file... w00t!

Pie and I watched the first episode of the new Terminator series last night. I have to say it was pretty good. Not perfect, but a FAR cry from the atrocity that was the Bionic Woman. I thought Summer Glau was particularly good, but the rest of the cast wasn't too shabby either. I'm looking forward to watching the second episode. Hopefully we can catch it tonight before trivia. Has anyone else checked it out?

After a lot of calculating, and too many months in a row of seeing red in my bank statement, and the continuing knowledge that I am beyond stupid financially, I have come to a decision. I am going to have to force myself to adhere to a budget, and a stringent one at that.
With that said, I will not be having much in the way of discretionary cash for the next 6 months at the most, 4 at the least, while I pay down 9 years of stupid tax... with the exception of Ralph coming down (yay!) and one night in DC with Pete, I will be hiding my wallet for the near future. If you care about the details, read on, otherwise, just know that I'm going to be poor for a little while, and not throwing parties/hosting dinners...

So last night was my first time ever at a real actual comedy... bar. I'd been to an Autism benefit show that a friend had done, and it was funny, and I've watched a lot of stand up on TV, but this was the first time I was in the full commercialized (read: $7.50 for a drink) experience.
Anyone else been to one of these? lots of thoughts buzzing around about comedians, and the night, and heckling...

Here's an article from Jeff Atwood about the magpie developer. He's arguing for a more reasoned method - i.e. you don't have to be bleeding edge, so long as you have a solution that works... which i'm pretty much in agreement with.
That said, I'm still going to read TechCrunch, TechDirt, get my Scoble news, and so forth. I don't read a whole lot of blogs, comparatively - some people have told me they have RSS feeds of over 150. That's a little much for me. However, I do read tech blogs, and I do have a few tech link blogs that I follow, just to keep me updated with what a few of the "bigger" names out there are doing. And i'm going to keep trying to shift through "shiny" for "diamond"...
now back to your regularly scheduled trolling...

You'd think as a libertarian he would say that he'd give schools the choice whether or not to teach intelligent design, but no, he says he doesn't "accept" evolution as a theory.
