First there was Secretary of the Treasury Paul O'Neil. Now maybe Tom Ridge and Don Rumsfeld too?
"Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge might step down after the November election, telling colleagues that he's worn out from the huge reorganization of government. Ridge also said he needs to earn money in the private sector to put his teenage children through college."
"While Vice President Cheney remains part of Bush’s tight, inner circle, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has fallen out of favor and tells his staff that 'no matter what happens in November, I’m outta here.'"
Of course, Clinton had the same problems, I remember two resignations from his cabinet, Mike Espy (Agriculture) and Federico Peña (Energy). I remember a ton of rumors about others but I can't remember if any others came to be.

Law enforcement officers are good people with bad jobs. Thier jobs have gotten out of control in this country and they need to be given smarter orders. This isn't what America is.
Not one of the 9/11 hikjackers, or thier supports in the US, wore a fucking turban.

Choco! Party! Good, good! - not SFW if your employer can't abide bouncing bikini boobies.
Need disability insurance? - this is actually a Swedish commercial for what I guess could be called one of Sweden's largest insurance company. Think I remember seeing this once on some cable channel a long time ago.

We need to change a fundamental part of this site, and yes, I know it defeats the original purpose of it being free-form and posting whatever you want, and even using silly names and whatnot.
1. We need a registration and approval system so anyone can still register, but that needs to be approved before they can post.
2. Logging in needs to be required to post.
This will stop 99% of the general idiocy that's been overtaking everything and threadjacking EVERYTHING before it just makes the site a total joke. If people want to post they still can, but they at least can be kept track of...

well, i'm leaving for cleveland today, Mitch is turning 1 tomorrow... i'll be back monday, and then tuesday i'll be working again! it's nothing permanent, i'm just helping out the people i used to work for, for some mutual benefit.
secondly, my being born August 16, 1979 means that i'll be 25 in a few weeks. Because of this, i'm planning on having a party the weekend before (because that's the ONLY weekend i could seem to get Ralph to come down...).

This article really pissed me off. Its clearly left-wing anti-Bush propaganda, but that isn't the part I dislike. I really hate the incorrect implication that his craziness is a result of his past drug abuse, as opposed to a cause of his past drug abuse. It feeds the bogus notion that alcohol/cocaine can make you permanently crazy. Its the other way around, being permanently crazy can make you an alcoholic/addict.

yeah, i went last night, with my no money, to go see the bourne supremacy... it weren't bad... a lot of people complained about the jumpy cinematography, and it's kind of apparent that they shied away from the steadycam approach of a few (read: 99.44%... just like ivory) other less intrepid directors, and some of the action gets lost as a result, but hey, it pulls you into the movie, right?

So I have decided that Ben is going to be spinning at the slamming Labor Day weekend extravaganza that the Tekkiehaus is holding on September 4th.
So what does every good DJ need? Records? Good Headphones? An MC? Nope. What he really needs is a super cool DJ name.
Nomination form is below. Please post.

does anyone know any girls that are only children? i can't think of any, and i'm wondering what it means
i'm also wondering why i woke up thinking about it, when i went to sleep thinking i was going to miss a plane back to baltimore from california while i was chatting up two girls (one was a diver) at their place, packing up my stuff i'd left there before (now i was at adrienne's place)... anyway... does anyone know of any families where the daughter is the only child there?

so i've been contacted by a company that does technical staffing, they have a couple of opportunities... but their clients required that potential employees take these silly brain bench tests. i was a little bit nervous (and mostly asleep) when i took the first two, but i did fairly well, scoring higher than 68% of previous test takers...
yesterday morning i took 2 more, for the second job, and got into the 95th percentile in ASP.NET (hey look, i know what i'm doing... and someone else agrees!), and i was feeling good until...

This game is awesome. I am currently a Level 4 Pastamancer of the rank Starch Savant. The three main stats are Muscle, Mysticality, and Moxie. I have a familiar named Twinker Ball, which is a 6 pound Mosquito. I am currently equipped with the following:
 chef's hat
 Spooky Staff
 Knob Goblin pants
 Mr. Accessory
 Pine-Fresh air freshener
You can fight batrats and ratbats, knobb goblins and bars. The local currency is meat. And the end boss? The Naughty Sorceress. Hilarity.

I am looking for a PDA. Here are my requirements:
- ability to add Wifi or built in Wifi
- ability to add one more accessory through USB or expansion slot
- able to sync with Linux (like Palm) or relatively easy to install Linux on the PDA (like with an iPaq)
I'd also like for it to be as cheap as possible, hopefully under $100! I don't mind a non-new item and I don't mind eBay. Can someone make a good suggestion to me? Thanks in advance.

Okay, I found this post on Craigslist. And it's quite possibly the funniest thing i've read in months. Here goes:
"Upon stepping into the office this morning, I had two different people remind me what day it is. “It’s Friday” they spouted, as if they had just unveiled some hidden truth about life……no shit it’s Friday, believe it or not I have a vague understanding of the passing of time, and keep myself moderately aware of what day in the week it is. But thanks anyway, lest I forgot and had the horrible misfortune of thinking it was Thursday. Could you imagine? The horror.

Mario Cuomo has a new book about Lincoln and why he's relevant today...
and, of course, there's a reader review at the bottom... from, i shit you not, a "a teacher with a PhD in history"...
the only problem is, he doesn't know the difference between "effect" and "affect" and i think he's talking about some guy named Perry, not Mario, AND he can't spell tying (he tried "tieing")... again, as i was saying, i don't even care at this point what he was talking about, he just sounds stupid and self important.

Here's a link to the site where you can fax your Senator for free.
JUNE 28, 2004: The INDUCE Act is legislation being pushed by the record industry that would allow them to file lawsuits against companies that make unrestricted music hardware or software, such as the iPod or filesharing programs. The INDUCE Act will restrict technological innovation, limit free speech, and threaten one of the most vibrant sectors of the United States economy. Instead of taking advantage of new opportunities to build new business models, the record industry is pressuring Congress to stop music sharing with more lawsuits and regulation.

Okay, I don't feel like looking this up right now. How can I find the height of a table using javascript? Meaning, if I set the table height to 100%, how do I find out what the actual height is in pixels? I tried .height and .scrollHeight and neither of those is correct.

I've been back from Aruba since Thursday, but just haven't gotten on here yet. It seems I'm busier when I'm unemployed than I was when I was employed. Weird. I am leaving for a different beach, Virginia Beach to be exact, this coming Sunday, so hopefully after that I will be able to catch up a bit on the local happenings and post a bit more actively again.
Until then, I of course have Aruba pictures.

"The American asked me why we had beaten the prisoners. I said we beat the prisoners because they are all bad people. But I told him we didn't strip them naked, photograph them or fuck them like you did."

You are an SECF--Sober Emotional Constructive Follower. This makes you a hippie. You are passionate about your causes and steadfast in your commitments. Once you've made up your mind, no one can convince you otherwise. Your politics are left-leaning, and your lifestyle choices decidedly temperate and chaste.
You do tremendous work when focused, but usually you operate somewhat distracted. You blow hot and cold, and while you normally endeavor on the side of goodness and truth, you have a massive mean streak which is not to be taken lightly. You don't get mad, you get even.
Please don't get even with this web site.

I got a Paypal payment of $54.00 for the 4 articles they accepted last month, woohoo!
One side note, they are horribly slow at approving articles, so to make any money off this, well, it's nothing but nice extra cash...
