I'm moving into downtown baltimore some time in september with dan and company. I was thinking that this would be a good time to set up a site just for random bloggings of all the zany ass stuff that i see around baltimore and with living there i'm sure i'll see even more.
Do you think anyone else would have any interests in doing this as well or should i skip the whole idea of trying to find a domain name and setting up my own public site and go to one of the thousands of blog sites out there.

I've been reading the DailyKos for a few months now. I am starting to get a little bored of it. I guess my main problem with it is that an appropriate slogan for the site would be "DailyKos: We're kinda progressive."
Anyone else get that impression? I'd love to be proved wrong.

the argument has taken a decidely weird turn. both sides are forming battle lines... of course, i'm not sure that both of them know that they're funny...

This year at the Will Eisner Awards at the San Diego Comic-Con, PvP won the award for Digital Comics, and deservedly so. Scott Kurtz, author of PvP posted about it on the PvP website. I copy a portion of this for you here, because it's awesome, with Wikipedia links added for your convenience.
(Many of you will not care about this, but Ben will, so nyeh)

Spreading this info everywhere I can so Ben sees at least ONE copy of it. Also see: message on yer answering machine, e-mail, MSN IM.
Right, my flight was cancelled, and after a lot of confusion and disinformation I finally managed to get a new one. Two days from today; monday. New itinerary follows..

Not that I am a fanatic recycler or a save the planet vigilante
But coming home there was a large amount of trash by the dumpster of my apt from one of the peps moving out.
Sprinkled in the trash was a nice P3-733 with a 19" monitor a 23" TV and other kitchen appliances.
Haven't MF'ers heard of a pawn shop

I don't know how many of you liked Soul Coughing much, but I do/did... there's nothing like listening to Irresistable Bliss on your headphones while walking to class on a sunny day.
But listening to Haughty Melodic at 7:30 in the morning at work has a very similar effect. It's much more acoustic, most songs starting out with his guitar strumming. His bizarre and yet very well formed lyrics are still present, so it's kind of like listening to Soul Coughing, if they were just... you know... older and more evolved. hehehehehe... which, well, is what it should be.
Anyway... I like this album a lot. I definitely like it more than his first solo album, but it hasn't grown on me yet as much as the first 2 SC albums. Very good... at least good enough for me to do a rare musical review, hehehehe.

a while back i was annoying people because i was on this kick about perspectives... someone in the city paper wrote about mosaic lounge, and peter k. informed me that that's us in the background of that picture (my eyes really do glow like that... it's uncanny how good that photographer was...), and i noticed how different her story was from mine for that night.
well, i kind of like this city. this guy doesn't... (NSFW) funnily enough, i live exactly in the neighborhood where he says everyone is racist... really?

I say World War IV because we all knew what World War III was supposed to look like.
What does World War IV look like? Is 2006 ~ 1939?
- Israel is lashing out at Lebanon, conflict very well may get wider by the end of the week. Politicians are dropping the word "war" unabashedly.
- North Korea is pissing off Japan and others. Japan is openly talking about modifying their constitution to allow “offensive” weapons
- Iraq is not going well for us. Fair to say there is now a low intensity civil war going on there
- Afghanistan I hear the Taliban is on a up surge. Didn’t we fix that a few years ago? WTF mate?
- Iran is getting belligerent because it knows it can because the US and Israel are bogged down
I am sure someone somewhere is going to screw over the price of oil as an economic weapon soon.

i kid you not, that title has something to do with this post. i was sent this game by Jay in my office today. it's really hard, but really easy to figure out the rules... he wasn't wrong when he sent me an email with "time waster" as the subject.

i just go through Lawrence Lessig's review of An Inconvenient Truth and it's pretty glowing, as well as making a good argument that the media is in a tough spot, but that we need to pay attention to this problem. Not that the two are mutually exclusive.
