life without cable hasn't interrupted my media intake at all. In fact, it's kind of nice, not having the choice to flip through 500 channels.
Also, my house is a lot quieter now that my phone isn't ringing all the time.

i'm receiving my new receiver, yay! does anyone want my older one? I either got it from Jamie or from Rich, i can't remember (the Onkyo, not the Aiwa... which one of you gave that to me?). It has no remote, and it's older, but it puts out a lot of clear sound. Great for your bedroom, or home DJing, or something...

My house, according to at least one place, is now worth only $652 less than I paid for it, 3 years ago this month!

Public Notice: For various personal reasons, I have deactivated my Facebook account... all of you know how to reach me through other venues, so feel free to do so.
The plus side is that I'll probably be a lot more active on here, so fire up your RSS readers, kids!

Thinkgeek got in trouble with the National Pork Board for supposedly infringing on "The Other White Meat" trademark, and of course, things went from WTF to awesome in a heartbeat.
My favorite part is their reply to the NPB: "In fact, ThinkGeek's canned unicorn meat is sparkly, a bit red, and not approved by any government entity."
Of course, you may be more turned on by the fact that they turned this into a sale: until June 30: "take $10 off any order of $40 or more by using the code PORKBOARD at checkout"

according to some estimates average water usage in the US is 80-100 gallons... other sources put it at 123 gallons PER DAY... the city says i used an average of 32 gallons per day between march and may... i'm pretty happy with that.

If i haven't told you already... I have a "whopping" case of Lyme disease... And according to this map, if you live on the eastern seaboard, you're lucky if you haven't gotten it yet! or you don't live near any wooded areas at all...

For the past many months, i've had a bunch of electronics of various size and purpose sitting in my basement, and it's time to get rid of them... I might take them to a pawn shop, or the little shop of hardware, but if any of you want them, first come first serve... here's the list:

I've gone ahead and downgraded my comcastiness to internet only - 12mbps for $60/month... this will save me $100/month, or $1200 a year!
However, I could get Vonage and keep my home phone (which is the only number some members of my family have) for about $15 or $20 a month. I'd still be saving $80 a month, but I don't know if I need it... any opinions?
