First, no I'm not going Linux and no I'm not getting a Mac.
Now that we've got that out of the way, my power supply has gone up for the fourth time on the same rig with no other component failing along the way. Something is shorting it, but I have no idea what. I've been given spousal decree that it's time for a new machine.

Today has been all about the money again, after i read a tweet from the guy behind the simple dollar (thanks ROB for originally pointing me there!) about a new (to me) service called smarty pig...

Their MO is that a group of five or so of them are running up behind random people and beating the fuck out of them. This group of bitch boys is responsible for at least 5 assaults so far.
If you have a chance please write tto your local government official (mayor, city council member, police department) and request more information on what the City is doing in response to this.
Thank you.

So Penn and I just realized we have very old twitter accounts we never ever used. Since every other Article on my RSS feeds is about twitter lately (I'm looking at you TechCrunch), I figured I'd give it a go. While it's very interesting seeing what Penn has to say every so often, can you guys recommend things/companies/people to follow that might be fun?

so, as we sit in LA among million dollar homes that aren't much larger than our own, and which of course are much less structurally safe... it's good to know what $2,000,000 will get you in Baltimore right now... you can own a huge piece of Highlandtown history... the Baltimore International College is selling the site of Haussner's as well as 2 townhomes next to it... I had only eaten there a couple of times (with, of course, my cousin who is a curator...), but it was pretty fantastic, and i can understand why they're having a hard time selling it... but at the same time... it's amazing what $2 million dollars will get you in Baltimore, vs. a condo in Los Angeles

Brown Mega Corporation Developers. Buidling up communities one brick at a time. Hopefully there will not be any government interference or protests from the community. Mount Royal Avenue Towers was constructed Sunday afternoon and is still standing as of Tuesday morning.
