So I was thinking. Isn't that great? Oh yeah, back to my point. Ben, I think it would be a good idea if you put some "previous" and "next" buttons in each individual "read full/comments" screen. These would obviously go to the next and previous full posts. What do you all think?

at lunch today i was trying to test a change on my server, but accidentally types in localhost.com, so i did a little digging...
according to DNS it's registered by tucows..., but when i looked on their site, they gave me the internet equivalent of a blank stare you get from a liquor store owner when you ask if they have boru vodka. so i decided to ping it... try for yourself (windows users, go to your start menu, click on Run, then type in cmd and hit enter... at the prompt, type ping www.localhost.com)... i got back that it was pointing to 10.11.12.13, hehehe, rather entertaining. ahh well, i told you i was easily amused...

happy anniversary to pete and sarah... a year today, that's pretty cool... they're pretty cool... and i hope they make it out here soon! (psst... it's just after 10 months for me, hehe)
and, i know it's early for me to be up on a sunday, and sorry about that... i fell asleep at 9 o'clock last night. it was either the wine or something, because right after watching Human Nature (hilarious movie btw, very funny, which someone switched for "Home Movie" at blockbuster), i was all ready to go, and next thing i knew, it was midnight, and rich had imed me a few times asking where i was... so, i'm really sorry i missed the party rich... hope it was fun!

Last night the X brought Little Spike back to me, along with his bowls, brushes, and other fixins, per the new and improved custody agreement. This morning is our first morning together again, me and my floppy doggie, and I forgot that he smells the place up so G.D. much. I'm dropping him at the groomer's shop in an hour, I really hope that it helps, cause if not we'll be serving the dog on toast at Rich's Novemberfest. I hear Basset goes well with beer and crab dip, if not we'll just order pizza! Pizza!

Just the other day Martin Sheen said something to the effect that the most havoc is wreaked when something we take completely for granted goes away. This made me think to grab a pack of batteries and a case of bottled water last night while I happened to be at Home Despot. It's a good darn thing too, because today a water main broke in Towson and now a good portion of Baltimore Co. is devoid of running water, including my apartment.

so this morning i was thinking about the common indo-european myths that have been floating around in my head since i started reading the Illuminatus! trilogy, thinking about eris and the trojan war and all of these things... and a minor one came back to me. i may be mixing my stories up a bit here, but either hercules (herakles), theseus, or jason (of that great rock band the argonauts) had to fetch (an) apple(s) or the golden fleece from a garden protected by a dragon, i.e. serpent, and return it. on and off today when i have time, i'm going to verify... but this story reminded me a lot of the whole "eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil" story, so i'm going to check it out. anyone with knowledge about this, possibly while stoned (cypress hill, i'm looking in your direction) is herewith and henceforth encouraged to take one giant step forward and inform the class.

Ok, this is kinda scary. Right now I'm obviously online, connected as usual, but not actually doing anything with the connection. No games running, no P2P going on, but the lights on my modem are still flashing like crazy. Something must be using my connection for something or other. Anyone know of any way to monitor what processes are using a connection?

The Tekkiehaus poker night is getting better and better by the week. Every Thursday night from 8ish to 12ish we are running a poker night here at the haus. Right now we have enough people where we are bordering on staying with one large table or going to two smaller tables. I would like to have enough to go to a second table constantly. Secondly with Novemberfest upcoming on the 22nd we do need assistance draining the keggorator of it’s current contents so that we are well stocked for the main event.
So this is my invite to YOU to become a regular visitor to the haus on Thursday nights. Games are cheap 5 cent ante 25 cent max bet 3 raise limit. Typically people with the worst luck lose no more then $10 - $15. If you don’t know poker, don’t worry I didn’t either till three months ago.

So, does anyone? I'm lookin' at you, Ralph.

so at lunch, i usually read my comics, they're short, don't require sound or anything. but they only take about 5 minutes. i'm getting rather sick of news... fark, the slate... and i can't really justify watching movies. i know, not a far step from comics, but it's just across that line.
maybe bbspot or the onion or something, i don't know... i'm getting into that place where adampants has been for a while, just getting tired of the web. which, well, would kind of blow, it being my job and all, hehe. maybe i should just make more for it, rather than complain.
well, that's why i'm writing this post, isn't it? hehehe

I watch a lot of TV, and until about fifteen minutes ago I couldn't tell you why this was a good idea...but now I get it!
I was watching Ally McBeal, the episodes when she's just getting into Robert Downey Jr, and I realized that the sitcoms have a Life Lesson for us all! Lots of Lessons!
Lesson the First: no matter what, your true love will be written out sooner than you would like, and all the people you feel merely tepid towards will get seven year contracts.
Lesson the Second: the thinner the better. No matter what, Tracey Gold.
Lesson the Third: (Dawson's Crack) even if you don't like the girl next door right now, don't say anything you'll regret because at the end of the series you're going to see the flashback montage and feel serious shame.
Lesson the Fourth: a cross country move for the character is merely cover up for the actor going into rehab.
Lesson the Fifth: (ER) Recidivism, while fruitful soil for primetime emotive momentum, is unpleasant (especially when there are kids involved). It happens after two weeks clean, or five years. To be safe, sterilize your junkie.
I hope you all have paid attention, there will be a quiz.

The Cult, of 80's fame, was the Death Cult, and, before that, the Southern Death Cult...I bought many an import in the day at good ol' Eides http://www.eides.com/

now that the average length of the posts has dramatically decreased, the idea was raised to me that we go back to just having one box for text, and the whole post goes in the front page.
what are thoughts on this?
what are thoughts on ANY additions/changes to the site?

The world almost ended last night. I mean the Internet went down at Tekkiehaus. I mean the world almost ended last night. I mean . . . oh I am so confused.

I just found out that I have an opportunity to move to Florida. A little two bedroom house in my mother's network of friends' dropped in my lap over the last week so I'm snatching it up. It's in St.Petersburg, on the Gulf in Biscaynne Co. So Congratulations, you guys! You now have a(nother?) place to hang your hat that's only fifteen minutes walk away from sandy beaches and warm sun. Count yourself lucky.
So it's quick, and with the holidays I know it'll feel quicker, and all of a sudden I will no longer need my five black wool overcoats.

I decided I hadn't posted in a while, so I am going to just put down random thoughts as they come to me.
