my Ninjai wallpaper just came up in the rotation, and it reminded me to check out ninjai's site - this was an animated short I watched way back when I was sick, and it's still around (and apparently slightly blossoming!), so I'm reminding all of you guys to go back and watch it again!

You totally have to check out Moby Dick... this movie is possibly the worst thing i've seen that's tried to pass it off as serious... just... wow...

It was STILL in the news this morning on my way to work... how all these people are up in arms about either the pat downs or the scanner machines. It seems a little prudish & silly to me... it's not AT ALL like a human rights violation, and while it's a little annoying, and certainly childish and frightened on the part of the TSA (does that mean that the terrorists have won?), on the scale of Shit That's Really Important, it's like a 1.4, just ahead of "what kind of mustard to have on your hot dog".
That's why I'm proposing that, if you REALLY want to complain, have some fun with it! I suggest that the next time you fly, you go through the line in nothing but a speedo and some deck sandals. Let them search THAT... if they really want to. If you're going to be prudent, arrive wearing a pair of those breakaway track pants, which come off really easily.
double points if you film it, *1000 points if you get several people to do it WITH you...

This morning (?) apparently all of the Beatles songs are magically on iTunes... or so I've been told repeatedly from many sources. The best way ever was this one: a tweet about Abbey Road that is amazingly full of imagery for being 160 characters or less...

I was driving home last night, on the 163, and I caught up to a San Diego MTS bus, in the right hand lane, going rather slowly. As I got closer, I noticed that the electronic marquee on the back was flashing "Call 911" instead of a normal bus route number...
I was a little bit worried, but more curious, and as I passed it when I got to the offramp, the longer marquee on the side of the bus scrolled "Emergency - Call 911" and the lights were off inside the bus.. I have no idea if this was a trick to trap unwary drivers - it's illegal to use a phone while driving, without the handsfree nonsense - or real, or what... I didn't call 911, but I did call several San Diego "natives", none of whom had heard of this thing...
I was told to check The Tribune, but they had nothing about it either, so i guess it can't have been something too terrible... i don't know. Next time i'll definitely call 911...

That's right, I made my first post to a tech community support group... i'm afraid of this downward spiral...
the reason, btw, i never did before, was that i need answers NOW, when i'm looking for them, can't usually afford to ask a question then wait a week while SMEs roll by, looking to be helpful

Listening to Boys Noize radio on Pandora brought me to this song, which brought me to this video, which, as Stu says is REALLY REALLY WEIRD:
but i like it, and the song is fantastic

You know I'm in San Diego now, you know I have yet to rent out my house, and you know that it cost me a few grand to move out here... as of this point in time right here and now I have $4461 of short term (Credit card) debt over cash (meaning my debt is $4461 compared to my cash on hand). My 2 places combined (not including power/water) cost me $3686.34, which leaves me (before ANY expenses) $1285.30 per month.
So, I wanted to put this out there, to see if it makes sense. Please read all the way through, and let me know. Now, I know Peter is going to say "I told you so" but this is partly so show him that I CAN make it, it's just going to require some changes...
