I know I complain a lot about people not posting much, but wow, you guys really have done a lot... though i'm still kicking your asses handily, here's the comments and posts for the top people... for some reason, ralph having a 20 to 1 comment to post ratio amuses me...

Well, Vergil is finally out of the house. By that I mean, he, physically is gone. His presence however, will be felt for quite a while. By that I mean the amount of... stuff... he left behind. I did a small amount of photographic documentation of the process of cleaning out the 2 rooms he rented at my house. Mind you, at this point, all of this stuff is still there... but I've put a call in to 1-800-GOT-JUNK, and they will be coming on Tuesday to remove all of it. I put the photos on flickr (sorry to the folks at Bally, or anyone else with Websense gestapo, have to look at it at home), and will be adding to this as work progresses.

i read this article over on computerworld about Torpark, which makes your IP (appear to) change...
it's also running on a trimmed down version of FF, so that's handy as well... can be run off of a USB stick, or, you know... my tablet, ;)

Yesterday I finally got a bit of time to install Madden 2007 for the PC and the XBOX 360 controller (Microsoft made, USB connector, yes there are XP drivers for it).
The XBOX 360 controller is on the box as being compatible with the game. I think to myself great, I’ll pop this disk in, install, download some updates, install drivers for the controller, reboot and I will be playing football in 20 or 30 minutes.
I do all of that and, no sound. WTF mate. Futz around with things, check wires for 20 or 30 minutes. Then I remember that I saw a little blip go by when installing drivers for the XBOX controller regarding a “head set audio device” or some such nonsense. Recalling that there is a little headset port on the bottom of the controller it makes me think. I unplug the game controller reboot and presto sound. Plug controller back in and sound goes away.
So anyway to fix I had to go into device manager and disable the very generically labeled “USB audio device”. Sound is now back piping out of the Sound Blaster. Apparently windows thought that I would of course want my sound piped to me via my game controller, even with no headphones attached. What will I do if I ever want to get one of those head set things, I have no idea.
Thanks windows you are the best. :-)

Today I have an interview with Jose Villarrubia. He a prolific colorist in the Marvel universe (X-Factor, Spider-Man: Year One), and he's also an illustrator (Alan Moore's Voice of Fire, The Mirror of Love, and Promethia [book5]). Unfortunately, I have to talk to him about the new illustration concentration here at MICA, since he's the interum chair of illustration. Maybe next time I'll get to talk to him about Batman.

but this logic is just showing fundamentalism in its whole retarded glory... Evangelical Christians want "evolution" out of Leakey exhibit... just because we found about 2 or 3 dozen missing links doesn't mean it's "evidence" of evolution... you can't use evidence as evidence! you have to call it something else!
argh. just.... where the hell is my clue bat?

So here's a question for the hardware experts... which is the better configuration:
1GB (512x2) RAM operating in dual-channel dynamic-paging
or
1.75GB (512x3+256) RAM operating in single-channel

Ok, Ok, this actually puts a bit of a dent in my inherent optimism
Jesus Camp "follows Levi, Rachael, Tory and a number of other young children to Pastor Becky Fischer’s Kids on Fire summer camp in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota, where kids as young as 6 years-old are taught to become dedicated Christian soldiers in God’s army."

I just finished the 2nd (and... last...) season of the show, and I have to say that 1) i really, really, really liked the show, but 2) I was a lot disappointed that there were only 2 seasons... there's a LOT more that they could do... I suggest you all put it on your netflix and give it a view, they're quite good... Carnivàle! It's like magic meets depression meets carnivals meets religion... all with great writing!

I finally used the gift certificate my brother gave me for my birthday, and bought a 12 inch all-clad frying pan yesterday. it's very nice, i used it last night for a nice steak (of course, i used sirloin instead of strip... but it still came out nicely)... anyway... i'm way too excited about my nicest frying pan ever... now i just need to find a good way to start hanging them up, hehehe.

I guess you can only be a crazy motherfucker for so long...
Steve Irwin Dead at 44 :'(
Irwin was killed by a stingray barb that went through his chest, according to Cairns police sources. Irwin was filming an underwater documentary at the time.
I always enjoyed watching Steve in action. He's survived by his wife, Terri, and their two children, Bindi (8) and Bob (3). He was known for putting much of his money toward wildlife preservation.
