So I've been having fun playing around on Kongregate lately. It's not your average website-full-of-flash-games. I mean, it IS a website full of flash games, but they've integrated this really cool points and trophies system around the website that kind of ties the whole thing together.
So if you achieve certain accomplishments in various games, you get points added to your account and a badge is displayed on your profile. I hear this is like XBOX Live, but I wouldn't know. Gain enough points and you gain a level. I'm level 6! FTW! What does that actually mean? I have no idea, but having my video game brain, it's exciting. They also have a weekly challenge that if you completely it, you get a card for their upcoming (digital) collectible card game.
It's a cool system and so far I've actually enjoyed almost all of the games I've tried. Check it out and add me as a friend!
That link SHOULD automatically add you as my friend if you join. You can play without joining, but you can't get badges ;)

ok, so you all know i use Netvibes, and get my news through there, and one of the blogs i read is Scott Guthrie's, over at microsoft... he mentions that IIS has a market share of about 40%, just behind apache's 50%... so i went to check this claim out, and it's mostly right (a little high, but whatever...) one place - and i won't link there, the site is terrible - called "netcraft" mentions other webservers, one of which is called lighttpd, prn. "lighty". the story (as described on their own site) is pretty cool, but i'd like to know more technical information, so i'm looking into that now... but it's impressive, they've got about a 1% market share, after only being out a couple of years.

Ladies and gentlemen, the time has once again come for our annual Ski Swap! It is on October 6th at the Annapolis location and the following Saturday, October 13 at the Glen Burnie location and starts at 10 a.m. Come bring your old Ski and Snowboard equipment and sell it for cold, hard cash! Or use it towards new stuff. The winter season is fast approaching so get your butt off that couch and do some prep work. Before ya know it, there'll be snow up to your knee caps!
There will be another Swap the first Saturday in November at the Annapolis location and once again, the following Saturday at the Glen Burnie local.
Any questions, don't hesitate to contact us at 410-757-6444

I was reviewing one of my projects, and it reminded me of Postel's Law, so I looked that up, got to Wikipedia's entry about him, and found that Postel's Law was part of RFC 793 - that probably doesn't mean anything to you (ok, maybe to Rich, or possibly Ralph). It's the RFC sent to DARPA concerning TCP. I thought that was pretty neat, so I looked at it a bit, and found out that the RFC was developed at USC, but not the main campus - it was created here
anyways... the point is, this is how a typical thought train chugs along in my head... if you were interested. and the location is cool.

"The followers of this violent ideology are a threat to civilized people everywhere. All civilized nations must work together to stop them by sharing intelligence about their networks, and choking off their finances, and bringing to justice their operatives."
You know, if that was referring to Bush and his cronies, it would make a whole lot of sense. Unfortunately, that was Bush himself, addressing the United Nations.
At least he didn't push the case for war against Iran. They were only mentioned once.

So my brother has a great mug, and I can't find it anywhere online. It's just a 20 sided die, with the 1 coming face up, with a one word caption: "Shit."
This, to me, is wildly amusing... and I want to get one. You see my dilemma. So, if any of you out there can beat me through the wilds of the internet to get said mug, I will buy you one too... or one of your choosing (equal or lesser value, of course...)

It is so retro it must be cool.
The oft joked about Canadian Dollar is now EQUAL to the American Dollar. Last time this happened? 1976
Looks like we are on the road to repeat double digit inflation rates (it is already happening if you don't use the government's stupid numbers) and 18% interst rates on Mortages.

This shit has really been pissing me off. Pissing me off enough to crosspost. Not that I ever really needed a good reason.
A couple days ago, the mercenary company Blackwater was at the center of a rather large incident in Iraq allegedly involving a dozen or two dead Iraqi civilians. There are conflicting reports, depending on who you want to believe, from the US State Department, the Iraqi government, and eyewitnesses at the scene. Some say the Blackwater employees were fired on first, some say they were responding to an exploded bomb, some say the bomb was too far away for that to be the reason, some say that it was because a civilian car (mother and child) ignored an order from police to stop and was slowing moving into the intersection, prompting the firefight. I have my preferences on who and what to believe, you have yours.

as few of you know, I'm planning a trip to Napa for early October, and I was thinking of seeing Stu on the Friday that I'm there, if scheduling permits. As fate has it, Stu has already Yelp!'ed about a lot of places in SF... if any of you are planning on going, i recommend it, he's written quite a few reviews, and they're pretty well done, in my not so humble opinion...

So, I was congratulated on a good playlist for the Builder User Conference here at work - I mostly chose classic rock, mixed with stuff that I like, and a couple of whatever they asked for specifically, and was asked to do this again, but they want more "new" things, specifically from "Nickelback, Chris Daughtry, Beyonce, Maroon 5, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson, Natasha Bedingfield, etc."
Now, I only recognize 4 names on that list, and couldn't name ANY of their songs, and I've asked for help, but I figure there might be someone on here who has no... i mean... different tastes in music from me, so, can you tell me quickly what I should get from these groups that would be recognizeable/popular? Otherwise I have to searching through top 40 charts and whatnot and that will take forever, and I do actually have another job to do... so... thanks for any input!

I'm looking for any suggestions on advanced macroing applications. I've used ACTools in the passed but I've never been much of a programmer so I've always had to get Jay's help. I think what would need to be done with actools to macro what I want would be too much of a hassle anyways though. I basically want to create an auto roller for the screen shot included below which will involve taking a screen shot, reading the numbers within the screen shot and if the stats are high enough then to continue on and keep the character*.
Screen shot
If anyone has suggestions to isolate the black numbers and then take the number and match it to what I or respond with the keyboard response of "R" (to reroll) that would be awesome. One site note though too. The numbers will increase and decrease in size as well as shift within that box from right to left randomly every 30 seconds.
* Yes, screw you all, I am a dork!

The Air Force announced that all flights of fighters and bombers in the United States will be halted on September 14 to allow for a review of procedures.
