Will you drop a passion loaf in my mouth? Will you passionately await the next prophet? Will you create a sandwich that only Leonardo da Vinci could picture in his dreams? I implore you to be elegant yet sacrificial. You need to be in touch with your inner lust. You lust for other men as Derek from the Eagle does and that is a true accomplishment. Derek is your bretheren yet you must make love to his fanny. Respect his needs and more importantly, respect his wants. He wants to put you in a mental bear trap. On the other hand, Machias wants to put you in a physical bear trap. I want to rescue you from both traps and prove, once and for all, that you are a loyal pet to me. After I free your mind, body, and soul, I will bathe you in exotic excrement from all over Delaware. We will drink from the fountains of Dundalk. We will feast on the meat of cougar and elk alike. Okay, this is very unlike me that I'm doing public begging, but here goes.
I wanted to take this time to let you all know that on Sunday, October 15th I'll be riding the 60 mile route in the 2006 MS Bike Tour. This is the 21st Annual Tour and it's used to raise money for the MS Society. I know that a lot of you don't know, but the reason that I'm riding is because about 20 or so years ago, my mother was diagnosed with MS. For that reason, I'd like to ask for your sponsorship for this ride. Any dollar amount would help, and donations can be made through my personalized page on the ride's website. The URL is: http://msnyc.kintera.org/msbike06/rddoyle75

So, since Ben got his bike from Craigslist I've been thinking....over the past 3 or 4 years, I've been pretty lucky with CL as well. I've decided to make a list of the things that I've gotten from there...feel free to add to the list.
Here goes:

Happy Birthday, Ben. I was going to call you, but decided that I'd share my knowledge of your birthday with the world.
Oh, since this site is oh so very "Web 2.0", I did a GIS for "web 2.0 balloons". I think that you'll agree that what I found was a good birthday present.
Happy birthday, man.

I don't know about most of you, but in the past few weeks, I've been using Google Calendar quite a bit. I was pretty excited when I saw that they offered SMS reminders to your events and appointments, but was pissed when Verizon Wireless wasn't in the list of carriers.
Well, after a little digging around today, I found that you CAN, in fact receive SMS notifications even if your carrier is Verizon. All you have to do is choose T-Mobile in the drop-down list. Problem solved and messages are coming in nicely.

Kind of related to Elfie's post, kind of not....
Does anyone here have a wireless controller for the PS2 that they like? I'm in the market for one, and would like some feedback from people that already have them...
Thanks!

I know I've said it before, but things are getting pretty goddamn scary in this country. Now, it's illegal to "annoy" someone over the Internet if you're not using your real name.... I hope there's internet access in jail.
Illegal to "annoy" someone over the internet...
Is it at all possible to change this government, or is in an exercise in futility? It really scares the sh*t out of me.

For all of you in the know (and those of you that aren't), there's a barbecue, party, drink-a-thon, orgy, and just general debauchery planned for Saturday, June 4th at Ben's house. The grill will be lit at 12:00 noon and according to Ben, the party will continue till there's no one left standing or Monday morning, whichever comes first.
For anyone interested, yes, I will be making an appearance, and no, I will not be signing autographs. Well, maybe just a couple.

Wow. I just found this site and the pictures are quite sobering. The site is by a girl in the Ukraine that's allowed inside Chernobyl's 'dead zone'. She travels on her motorcycle and takes pictures inside the areas that no one else is allowed in. Pretty impressive.

Wow, this about sums it up for me. I've finally found someone that hates Christmas as much as I do. The scary thing is that I've felt this way ever since I was a kid.
http://www.nypress.com/print.cfm?content_id=11794
I mean it when I say I've felt this way since I was a kid. The rest of my family loves this god-forsaken holiday. They get into the "Christmas Spirit", decorating the tree, hanging lights, candles into the windows, and all of that other happy horseshit. The sad thing is, I know the date that I started to hate Christmas. I could probably give you the fucking hour that it happened.

Okay Boys (and the occasional girl), I've got some upcoming concert information. This morning at 10AM EDT, presale tickets go on sale for the October 9th Beastie Boys show at Madison Square Garden. If anyone needs presale passwords for any of their upcoming shows, just email me and I'd be glad to let you know. Also, check out http://beastieboys.com/ for when they're coming to YOUR area.
In more exciting news (for me at least), Social Distortion is coming out with their new CD finally and going on tour. They're playing in NYC on October 14th and in DC on the 18th. If anyone's interested in seeing them, it'll be a fantastic show. I'm getting my tickets in a few hours.

Okay, I found this post on Craigslist. And it's quite possibly the funniest thing i've read in months. Here goes:
"Upon stepping into the office this morning, I had two different people remind me what day it is. “It’s Friday” they spouted, as if they had just unveiled some hidden truth about life……no shit it’s Friday, believe it or not I have a vague understanding of the passing of time, and keep myself moderately aware of what day in the week it is. But thanks anyway, lest I forgot and had the horrible misfortune of thinking it was Thursday. Could you imagine? The horror.

It's been years since I've read this...I forgot how much Shel Silverstein rocks.
Inside everybody's nose
There lives a sharp-toothed snail.
So if you stick your finger in,
He may bite off your nail.
Stick it farther up inside,
And he may bite your ring off.
Stick it all the way, and he
May bite the whole darn thing off.

Hey, I'm starting a fantasy baseball league and was wondering if anyone from here would be interested in joining. It's a 12 team league, head to head w/players from both leagues. At this point, I don't think it'll cost anything to join, we'll just do it for the competition. If you'd like to join there's only one thing required, you must be active.

I found this site indirectly from Fark when I was reading this horrific article. I think this metrosexual stuff is going waaaay too far. I like to look good and try to take care of myself, but it'll be a cold day in hell when I'm seen at a club "giving birth" to a guy I'm dancing with (like I'd be dancing w/a guy).

I think I'm going to lose it. As some of you may (or may not) know, I switched jobs at the beginning of the month. I was actually recruited away from my last job by this place, more money, better position, etc... I like working here, I'm on the top floor (43rd) of a building in Midtown, have a window that overlooks the East River and Queens with a fantastic view. The only problem is that I now share my office with someone else...

I just got back from a 4 day backpacking trip in the Adirondacks with my roommate and a friend of mine. We had a fantastic time, did some great hiking, saw some great views, and had a run in with a black bear. Oh yeah, I also got giardia. My encounter with the bear was pretty exciting, but right now, the giardia is at the forefront of my mind. Oh well, off to the doctor. I'll post the details of the trip later.

I don't know if any of you know of http://www.craigslist.org, but it's a pretty cool bulletin board for various cities (sadly, there's not one for B'more). Well, they have a "best of" section and I found this there. I thought it was worth sharing with my DTC family.

Newsflash: RADIO SUCKS!!
I have a girl at work that works for me that's always listening to top-40 radio here in NY (Z-100 and WPLJ for those that know). Now, I hate commercial radio and their 2 hour rotation of music that they play, but I have a question. I don't know if any one else has experienced this phenomenon, but why the fuck is Dobie Gray's "Drift Away" getting so much airtime? I hear it every two hours. It's not like it's a new song, I just don't get it.
So far, my "Drift Away" count for the day is at 2.....more updates as events warrant.

Now the flame that burns twice as bright
Burns only half as long
My eyes are growing weary
As I finalize this song
So sit back and have a cup o' joe
And watch the wheels go round
'Cause those damned blue-collar tweekers
Have always run this town
So, in the past week I’ve had a moment of clarity.

Okay, like i said last night, the Matrix: Reloaded is fantastic.
All of you fanboys out there don't need to ph3ar, i won't reveal any spoilers. This is easily the best sequel that I've seen and it lives up to the hype. I'm not sure about where i put it up against the original, because the inital movie was so different than anything else I'd ever seen. Reloaded is the perfect compliment to the original.

Hands down the best sequel I have ever seen and easily the first blockbuster that I've seen that stands up to all of the hype. I won't go into any details tonight, but tomorrow I'll review it. I don't know if you've all heard this or not, but smoking isn't allowed in NYC bars and clubs anymore. I usually tend to smoke if I'm drinking, but I've discovered that it's nice to come home at night and not have your clothes reeking of cigarette smoke.

Remember all of the hype that was being thrown around a day or two ago about the new "Drones" that the Iraqi government has? They were supposedly buried in Hans Blix' report to the UN, but he didn't explicitly speak about them and they've now become the GOP's "Smoking Gun". Well, if I knew what they looked like, I don't think that I'd be addressing the UN Security Counsel about them either.
Here's the article.
